At The Williamsburg Neighborhood Nursery School, we strive to make the application process as straightforward as possible. We do not interview children or screen their families. We do give preference to current students and siblings of alumni, and we make an effort to have an equal number of boys and girls in each class, but we otherwise accept children in the order in which their applications are received.
Applications are accepted one year before the date of admission, beginning on the day after Labor Day. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2010-2011 IS JANUARY 22, 2010. To be eligible for admission, children must turn their class age on or before November 15, 2010. Exceptions will not be made. WNNS only enrolls children in the fall; there is no ‘rolling admission.’ Please note that applications can ONLY be submitted for the upcoming school year (not for future years).
Downloadable application forms are available here
or parents may call or email the school to have a form sent by mail. Application Forms should be completed and mailed to the school along with the application fee of $40 in the form of a check or money order made out to The Williamsburg Neighborhood Nursery School.
Following the submission of an application, you will be contacted to confirm receipt and to schedule a classroom visit. We invite families who have submitted an application to make a brief observation of classroom life. These classroom visits, scheduled NOVEMBER THROUGH MARCH from 9:30 – 10:00 AM, Monday through Friday, are an optional part of the admissions process. Visits for families who have not submitted an application are scheduled at the discretion of the Director.
We observe the ISAAGNY Dates for notifying families about admission into the program. Letters are sent out in early March. Families have a week and a half after receiving an offer of admission to either accept or decline. A non-refundable tuition deposit of $1000 for 2’s or $1300 for 3’s and 4’s is due upon enrollment and is applied toward the year’s tuition. If a family declines an offer of admission or does not respond by the deadline, the spot is offered to a family on the waiting list.
